Out and About is a community group for people who use Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC), including their families, friends, therapists, and mentors. We welcome AAC users of all ages, using any communication device or language system to help them speak.

Out and About was started over 28 years ago by Dr. Caroline Musselwhite and Deanna Wagner, M.S., CCC-SLP. Our in-person events take place in community settings like local restaurants, coffee shops, marketplaces, hiking trails, and more. Please note: This is not a drop-off event. We ask that anyone accompanying a participant stay for the full duration, as the events are intended to be inclusive and shared experiences. Out and About offers monthly in-person events hosted by each region, along with a virtual event.
